Yasnac xrc sk16x getting it to arc having issues

Some questions.

When you tell the robot to arc on, does the feeder feed wire and does the display on the front of the Miller welder change?
If the feeder feeds wire, does the wire touch the work?
Can you start with the wire touching the work and then give the command "ARCON" to see what happens.

This may not be a robot problem but a welder problem.
