Get the P out of MOVJ

  • I have what I feel is probably a pretty stupid question...

I am transcribing some programs from an old XRC robot into a new(er) NX100 robot. The line I am trying to transcribe is this:

    MOVJ VJ=10.00 PL=1

When I pull up the MOVJ command in the Inform List on the NX100, it inserts this into the buffer line:

    MOVJ P000 VJ=50.00

There is no option in detail edit to remove the P variable, and I don't need (or want) a position variable for this movement.

Lest I look like a complete idiot, I know the original line is a joint move, velocity of 10, position level 1 (tight to target). The position is hard-coded into the program and can be changed by highlighting and modify-enter.

But how the heck to I get rid of that P variable?

  • Hei

I have not worked with the NX, but on a DX there's a MOVx instruction in the buffer line when you have the Inform List closed. Using that MOVx instruction you get the position hard-coded into the JOB. The MOVx instructions in the Inform List all use position variables.

    Hope it helps
