I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way to get external Estops wired into the Fanuc panel on an M-10iA with a R-30iB Plus controller. As soon as I joined my new company about a year ago a fanuc robot showed up and I was informed that "we" were going to learn it on our own.. As it’s been almost a year now and no one has made any progress it got dumped in my lap and I’ve been able to fumble my way through integrating it to our die cast machines with a little help but I’m hung up on the Estop situation.
As of now if you Estop the robot it doesn't stop the die cast machine instantly, it will finish its cycle but won't continue after that without input from the robot. What I was hoping to do was use the robot Estops to send an output signal to the die cast machine itself to stop it immediately. Outside of the programming I don’t know how to get the robot to send an output signal and am I correct in that the Estop wouldn’t allow anything in the program to be read to send the output correct? I’m sure there is an easy solution that I’m not familiar with. Thanks for any input.
