Hi,
we have KUKA IIWA with Electric Touch Media Flange and would like to attach gripper that communicates over standard Ethernet, is it possible to somehow tunnel the Ethernet protocol through the EtherCat?

you can use EL6692 EtherCAT bridge terminal.

I think you mean the EL6601. EL6692 bridges two ethercat strands. I have used EL6601 to tunnel ethernet over ethercat, and while it works, it is low priority. For example I was getting pings in the neighborhood of 60ms, whereas usually would see <1ms on dedicated wires. So don't try to use it for vision or something...
