DXF to 3D

    yes i have DXF file auto cad file......i need 3D model of the file .....but i don not have other software which easily convert it inot 3D like solid works.....
    there is option in roboguide to convert the DXF into 3D model.


    but i do not know the process to use that fucntion.....usage of porcess i want to know....or any other free software to convert the file to 3D model....?????

    dxf is only 2d geometry. i'm not sure what roboguide can do for you unless it has the capability to extrude that geometry to a specified length/height??? (i've never used roboguide)

    A bit late to the party. But you could try using FreeCad a free and open source CAD program to maybe convert the DXF to IGES.


    I've seen 3D DXF's in the wild, they do exist and they usually contain wireframe geometry.
