Hello,
The Kuka Smartpad is giving me an error "Waiting for cyclic connection:KRC 4 not found".
Kindly provide any assistance.
Connect a monitor to the controller and look for the messages.
Or restore an image, if you have one (most people don't) .
I did that and it still gives me the same error.
"KRC Found.Waiting for cyclic connection" is the error I'm getting now.
Connect external monitor means... dont look at smartPad
Connect a monitor to the controller and look for the messages.
Should be:
Connect a monitor to the controller and look for the messages on the external monitor.
After connecting with the external monitor it was giving lots of status messages like "Internal Drive Configuration Error","Mada is malformed",etc.
So I restored the Machine Data file from an old backup and it started to work again
Why could the machine data file get corrupted??
It's Windows (TM) inside.
May be the accu is defect, so the shutdown doesn't work properly.
Or the harddrive has a problem.
It doesn't happen very often, but strange file corruption can happen sometimes. I ran into a KRC4 a few weeks ago where 2/3 of $CONFIG.DAT had somehow been replaced by low-level logging messages (C-style messages from inside the KSS kernel). No idea how that happened, I've never seen it before. And this was on a machine that had been running production, untouched, for years.
And, of course, their most recent backup... was from the KRC2 that this KRC4 replaced almost ten years ago.
I got lucky -- they had a 100% identical robot doing a 100% identical task in the adjoining production line -- I copied across the $CONFIG.DAT, crossed my fingers, and... got lucky. It's true what they say, it's better to be lucky than good.
Then I made fresh backups of both robots and (diplomatically) read the customer the riot act about keeping their backups up-to-date.
