Hey y'all, I'm thinking my earlier problem is because the robot is not saving points to DATA KAREL Posns... how do I add a point to this? Right now the window just has the name of my program; apart from that it is blank.
Thanks!

I am not familiar with your problem earlier but here is a simple point storage in a Karel program
%CMOSVARS
VAR
p1:POSITION
what is your earlier problem? This? https://www.robot-forum.com/robotforum/fan…-been-recorded/
If so, that has absolutely nothing to do with Karel.
Why a new thread for same problem?
rob76, yes, that was my earlier post. I thought about just continuing that thread but most of the discussion was troubleshooting the robot itself as we thought it might be out of memory or in the wrong mode or something of that nature. However, I was able to get one of the example programs to work (the Pick and Place for Beginners tutorial program) and it allowed me to touchup points there, but still not in any other program. Thinking that my problem must just be with my program itself and noticing that the DATA KAREL Posns window was empty for my HELLO_WORLD program, I figured I had isolated the issue and thought it would be best to create a new topic to discuss it... after spending a bit more time with the robot, though, I'm not confident my assumption that points need to be stored in that DATA KAREL Posns window is correct, as I just checked and saw that it shows no positions for the tutorial program either.
Thanks for the willingness to help though!
I'll keep looking for what is causing my problems... if I find it I'll probably post in the old thread since you're right in pointing out that that backstory to the issue might be important.
are you checking the DATA menu in the same window, in which you have selected your Karel program?
bidzej,
Thanks for your reply!
We managed to figure out the issue in my previous thread, what had happened was the previous robot owners had set up external axis, and so my Group Mask was set up to handle those axis. To save positions in a program, I just had to edit the group mask when I created that program, and then everything works just fine.

I know this is a old thread but ironically I am having issues having this screen display on my teach pendent is there certain conditions required to show this? I loaded this up in Roboguide and it shows as soon as I hit MOVE MENU, but nothing in the real world. Thoughts?
