If you have controllers with 2 Ethernet ports then you can pass signals through the open port to each robot and by pass the PLC.

Or you can just pass them along through the PLC.

I think your are referIring to I/O that you can wire, right ? A truly physical I/o

Unless you have Honda connectors or Fanuc I/o modules (they look like a PLC) , you dont have anything, except (if you want to do a lot of wiring), you can use the EE connectors and put an umbilical cord in between.

    Retired but still helping

    Yes, it is possible.
You can create a robot ring to communicate the two robots, using RIPE.
You can communicate up to 16 robots using RIPE

It's not clear for me what kind of I/O's you want to send, but if you have EGD I/O you can configure the robots to send I/O between them by Ethernet.

    Hi Rafahil,

How do you write in a numeric register of a other robot by using RIPE? So let say Robot_A need to write (or read) the numeric register of the robot_B? I think i,m ok to setup the RIPE... but after that how send the data?

    Thanks

That's not a document -- read the text in the image. It's a brochure for J740, "Data Transfer Between Robots," which is a particular option package that must be purchased from Fanuc and installed on each robot. It probably also requires the KAREL option, and may have other dependencies.

You would need to contact your Fanuc service representative and provide your robot F-numbers to get a quote.

Yes it's possible, but any way you need to contact fanuc because you need to add an option to your robot ( I did that for two robots shars the same encoder )
