Is there a way via system variable to change the maximum speed of a movement that uses a Skip or Touch Skip condition? We are trying to use this on an external axis, powered by a Fanuc motor, operating a ball screw driven gripper. We are trying to reduce cycle time, and the gripper has a large amount of travel on some parts, but not on others. Rather than have a custom open position for each diameter part, we would like to try speeding up the grip and stopping when the servo torque hits a threshold, either with a skip condition and system variable, or with Touch Skip. However, the maximum speed is set by the machine for all moves using a skip condition, and it is significantly lower than what we believe this gripper can handle.

Bump. Anything? Fanuc just gave me a non-detailed "no".

Well, to pull this out of the grave Robo_Eng_13, did you ever find anything?

Have you tried using the servo tool option. It is a paid option, but it sounds like it may be just what the doctor ordered.

We have not tried that, but i will keep it in mind if we end up re-visiting that issue.
