Hello. I am new to ABB robots and I am trying to teach a work object by using the three point method. I have a 3 X 3 array of parts I am trying to pick-up with the robot. I am aligning the robot with 2 positions for x1 & x2 and one position for y1 to define my work object. This should put the origin at one of the positions. The spacing is equal in x & y directions between positions and is 203.2mm. Once I am done defining the work object, the robot does not seam to be square to the array. When I manually move into the coordinates the positions are off. Could my robot not correctly be traveling along x & y therefore introducing an error? Could my robot require a re-calibration to make it travel correctly? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I have taught and re-taught the work object using all different methods of picking the three defining points and can not get it to come out correct.
Thanks,
Ron
