MZ04 and MZ07 in vacuum

  • Hi to all!
I'm interested if any one have information if MZ series NACHI robots can be putt in the vacuum? ???
The body will be pressurized with atmospheric pressure ( app 1000 hPa ) through the air purge.
Is the wrist 2 connected with the rest of the body in meaning of having the same pressure?
    Best regards!

  • Does someone knows if the end wrist is connected with the rest of the robot body?
Connected in manner that the end wrist has the same pressure.

    Best regards!

  • Thank You Roboter for interest!

The application is for manipulating inside the autoclave. The temperature is not important since the vacuum is inside, but the robot will be at room temperature.

The vacuum is in autoclave, because the use of composites ( epoxy + fibers ), and the bubbles of air in composites are forbidden. The vacuum pump will work all the time and keep the pressure under 1 Pa inside the autoclave. But inside the robot body will be atmospheric pressure.

The robot will perform manipulations during the curing cycle inside the autoclave.

The question is: Is a wrist2 (see attachment) connected with the rest of the body in meaning of air pressure or not ( Is it the same pressure in the entire body, also in the wrist2, if we connect 1 bar of pressure on air purge)?

  • Dear Simon S,

Whole robot body including wrist 2 is subjected to same pressure as you can find it mentioned in robot catalogue also (IP rating is given for complete robot not for individual axis).
