Dear Sir,
I required help on KUKA robots to connect external HMI ---->KRC4. Is it Possible? If yes then what are the methods.
Because in ABB And Fanuc Robots It is possible to connect external HMI directly to the controller.
Thank you.

It really depends on the Kuka package the robot has, but the link posted by fluke above provides information needed for your post.
For example: we have a Kuka KRC4 compact controller with Profinet, so we have to look for HMIs that support Profinet as it will require a GSDML file to be inported regarding the device and configure the HMI in work visual.
In a similar fashion, Kuka packages with Ethernet IP and ProfiBus or EtherCAT support their own kind and require the device description file to tell the controller what your adding into the Bus.
Cheers
Dear Sir,
Please suggest the external HMI that can communicate with KUKA KRC4 controller.
Thanks
That depends on what interface options your KRC has. If your KRC has EIP installed, for example, suggesting a ProfiNet HMI would be worse than useless.

Hi it really depends what package your controller came with.
Kuka offers diverse packages but mostly paid options.
These are different field bus options, Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet IP, Profibus, Devicenet etc
A quick google or enquiring any industrial automation company will be more than happy to suggest you their best range compatible to your controller.
HMIs come in different sizes, IP ratings, fieldbus options but this will be explained in more details when you request any brand dealer/distributor.
There are several companies that manufacture HMIs ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Hitachi, Omron, JHC, Advantec , and many more.
And HMIs come in different variants like standard ARM/RISC processors or Intel based windows.
Like SkyeFire mentioned, it really depends on your controller fieldbus options.
Risk of getting a different fieldbus HMI will cost you more to setup additional hardware like gateway devices.
Hope this helps
Modbus TCP is supported by mostly HMI. We have developed a software option package "ModbusTCP.KRC4" .
But it is not a free software, if you are interesting, please contact us: Apps.Support[at]reisrobotics.cn
Hello,
what do you mean exactly?
Do you want to create a custom HMI directly on the robot or do you have a external HMI on another device which should be shown on the smartPad or do you have an external HMI on another device from where you want to execute some actions on the robot? Or.....?
If you want to create your own HMI on the robot you can use Zenon from KUKA or myHMI from us.
If you have an external HMI on another device that should manipulate Variables on the robot, then you can contact us. We create custom specific solutions, so maybe we can help you.
Sorry for my question, but I did not understand your problem correctly....
Kind regards,
Christian
