    Good Morning,
I am installing a kuka robot KR_10_R_1100_sixx robot with a KRC4 Compact controller by following the manual "KR C4 Quick Start".
After finishing, this message appeared (KSS00276: machine data do not match robot type).
The Drivers of the robot do not turn on when I press the enable button on the KCP ( X11 wired ).

Please help me and thanks in advance.

    what are $TRAFONAME[], $ROBOTRAFO[] and $MACHINE_NAME[]

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    Hi,
For anyone who'll face this problem in the future the solution is to:
    1- in "Name:" enter "$ROBTRAFO[]" ( and not $ROBOTRAFO[] )
    2- in "new value" "$TRAFONAME[]"
    3- press "set value"

and in case you want to you want to load the model which is saved in the controller you write in new value the robot model (you have to check syntax )

    Hello,

it seems I am facing the same problem. I am trying to bring alive an old robot KR15 KRC2. After few days I finally get somewhere! There is a error "Wrong machine data for this robot type". I have already done some research on this forum (so please dont send me the link to READ first section :-D)

    I followed these steps:
    1- in "Name:" enter "$ROBTRAFO[]"
    2- in "new value" "$TRAFONAME[]"
3- pressed the yellow button with black arrow and nothing happened

    what am i missing?

Thanks for your reply in advance.

    in one word...everything....

should have read READ FIRST (without link as you requested )

you are blindly copying one variable into another...

without checking what their contents are,

without stating what robot you really have,

sharing screenshot without first switching GUI to English,

    without mentioning KSS version etc.

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

Next wrong thing: this thread covers KRC4, you have a KRC2.

If you would have done researches correct you should have found things like:

Machine MADA data do not match robot type

    Mada

    Mada change

panic mode does $TRAFONAME[] have to match the robot type?

We have a KR10R1100 robot but the $TRAFONAME[] is set as KR6R900_2 C4SR. And as this variable is write protected we can't change it.

Unfortunately I am in India atm and the Robot is in Boise, USA. I recommended her to change the $ROBTRAFO[] value to $TRAFONAME[]. But her reply was as follows:

"Doing that will change robtrafo to the same value as trafoname which doesn't help. IT also changes back after a powercycle"

Do we have to get updated $ROBCOR.DAT and $MACHINE.DAT file from KUKA for our Robot?

the two must match... all you need to do is get correct value in both. one can type it in, or clone value from the other... typing is error prone, and there could be invisible character such as space that still makes them different though they look the same. which is why assigning value from one to another is a better option.

btw. what is with not stating KSS version when making software or configuration changes? and why not state the exact steps taken? saying "it does not work" is insufficient to replicate the problem or recovery steps. also it is not clear what type of restart was the "power cycle", or if robot rebooted normally or not (if batteries are bad, instant power off may not have saved values).

to check the value of a variable use menu Home>Display>Variable>Single.

type the variable name in and click on update.

string variables are actually character arrays in KRL so all such variables are to be treated as such - enter square brackets after variable name.

And displayed value is shown surrounded by quotation marks. if one is assigning new value, do not forget to type quotation marks

but that is not all, adding quotation marks may not be sufficient. variable could be read only. so whatever you do also pay attention to messages.

but even when no message is shown, do not assume that everything worked. check if the value is really accepted. or not... in this case random string value was entered correctly but was still rejected since it does not follow required format ("#KRxxxxx")

panic mode so a different engineer followed your steps and he could resolve "machine data do not match robot type" error..we have 8.7.6 HF1

Does the Trafoname match the Robot type we have. We have KR10R1100 robot but the trafoname is set to KR6R900_2 C4SR. Is that an issue?
