I am currently looking for some advice to the following problem:
We have a robotic weld cell that has two robots working in unison. (Both are 100IC-8L) One is a master and its pendant also controls the manipulator and the other is a slave. We use DI's and DO's for robot to robot comms for when they have reached certain points in their program. However, whilst running some test programs in auto mode, the slave robot had an arc start failure and paused at a fault however the master robot continued through its program.
Does anyone know of a way to make the master robot pause if the slave robot is in a fault status and vice versa. I know that it is possible to avoid a potential issue by being careful with the DI/DO's, but I would like to completely remove the risk of a collision in future.
Any help/ideas are fully appreciated.
p.s. I have no prior knowledge to programming/macros, so some explanation would go a long way.
