R-J3 Teach Pendant

    Hello,

    How do I fix an R-J3 teach pendant that stops displaying information on the entire screen. The first three pics are of the controller booting up. The last pic is the screen when its done. Each of the pins for the teach pendant seems to have continuity for the length of the teach pendant cable.

    At the top of the forum page, there is a spot that says Fanuc alarm codes, I would go there and you can search the faullt that you have at the top of the teach pendant.
    Must admit that I have never seen that one. Good luck.

    It looks like you trying to run a Karel program at bootup.
    A register of some type is not valid

    Cause: program error KAREL. Untaught or uninitialized data.
    Remedy: Teach the data.

    Oh, well

    I had exactly the same problem. I found out that pressing one of the U buttons puts it in that state. I assume some routine to lockup controller functions to protect from messing. Not sure. BUT what solved it was to do a "controlled start" (NOT an "init).
    Hold F1 and F5 and keep holding while turning controller until booted into the maintenance manual. Then choose controlled boot. Then a hard boot. That did it on my end. Back to normal.
