Yaskawa is the only people with the software. The bigger question is; what happened to give this alarm? Boards swapped? Removed and re-installed?

With XRC end users can save and load system software. If you have another XRC that is running (or as 95devils says if a board was swapped, put it back and save the system software before you swap the board).
To save the system software you must have a CF card in the XCP01 that works like you are doing a backup. Boot in Maintenance mode by holding top menu when you turn the power on. Go under 'File' and 'PC Card' (where you go to save the CMOS.BIN) below the save and load CMOS is upload system software (???) this can save the system software on the XCP01, WRCA XCP02(optional) and MSP (teach pendant).
To load the system software, put this same CF card in the XCP01 (please note, this software must be on the root of the CF card). On the XCP01 is a rotary switch, set it to 5 and turn the power on. You will get a new menu for loading the system software. NOTE!!!!! DO NOT CHOOSE "ALL CARDS". Please select Choose cards and select only the card you have replaced. This is not a process for upgrading software versions, it is only for replacing cards.

Does it mean that one may save SYS SOFT on Teach Pendant and take it to another XRC? Is it then the CF card needed at all?

You don't save anything on the pendant.
