    Hello,
We have a second hand robot model KR150 KRC1. We need to change it to expert mode so that we can configure it. When we introduce the password KUKA, the robot says it's not correct.
The seller doesn't know the password; Is there any way to get to know it?

    Hello
    Go to Regedit
    Hkey_current_user\software\KukaRoboterGmbH\KukaBof\OcxControls\Usermode\Password.
Take away the secons passwort but leave the default password.

you must be able to login as expert or higher and minimize HMI before you can do that.
alternatively boot robot while holding CTRL (i think) so that only Windows will start but HMI will not run.

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

Well, the "boot holding CTRL" only works if you plug in an external keyboard. The drivers for the KCP keyboard load too late in the boot process.

For a KRC1, once you log in as Expert, you should be able to access Windows by using CTRL-ESC. On the KCP keyboard, CTRL is a "second function" on one of the numeric keypad keys, so it's necessary to switch off the Num Lock (NUM key on the keypad, status is shown in the bottom status bar of the display).

It's really easier to plug in an external keyboard, but for a KRC1, you'll need an adapter for the old pre-PS/2 keyboard connector.

the Best way to reset the password is to use the windows command line 'Net User' command

    just open the cmd

    type:

    net user KrcExpertProgrammer *

after typing this it prompt to you enter the new password for Expert User. just rewrite the password and confirm it, and you are good to go.

    Hi,

I have the same problem. Customer has lost the 'expert' password (I have tried 'kuka'). Is there a controlled way to shut down the KRC2 (so I can restart with Ctrl key pressed) or do I just power off and hope the backup battery is ok?
    Thanks.

    Power off and hope.
Or if the batteries are older than two years: change them before powering off.

I don't know if the customer even knows there are batteries there! :o
I will check the batteries before I start.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Les.

The customer found some more passwords to try. Fortunately, one of them worked.

    Hi Everyone,
I am new on the forum. we just bought 2 kuka arms for few euros with a friend.

    KUKA KRC1 V2.3.24 SP08 HF5
    KR150/2Tj
    from Renault plants apparently

Their is no information on them about password... :help:

we would like to go into expert mode to configure and explore before mistakes.
I am not sure the cabinets and arms are exactly matching, so we put power on today without plugin the motors.

The problem is: we can not access to the expert mode without a password.

    I tried:
    regedit: nothing happens
net user KrcExpertProgrammer * : (for that we shut down and hold CTRL on an external keyboard) the USER command is not recognized.
net use KrcExpertProgrammer * : (for that we shut down and hold CTRL on an external keyboard) the KRCEXPERTPROGRAMMER command is not recognized.

    please help!
    BR

Are you attempting to log into Windows, or into a KSS user group? Those are two different things.

    Linguistic barriers. :icon_rolleyes:

Are the "net user" commands valid for KRC1s, or was that a KRC2-only thing?

I tried the "net user" command in KRC4 and its works very well.

I have also developed one app to reset all password to default " kuka ".

I have never tried on KRC1 and KRC2.

Hello, This executable archive chg_password.zip worked perfectly!!!

Last robot programmer change the passwords and did not leave any type of documentation.

I was almost getting an image of another similar robot and downloading it to see if I could make it work. I needed to activate a security setting and I wasn’t able to log in to the security user to do that.

    2024 and work very well.

    Thanks a lot tarun89engg .
