Hi everyone,
I have a second hand Motoman UP6 robot and Yasnac XRC controller, but I can't size the power capacity of the controller. How can I choose the size (diameter) of power supply cable for robot?
Thanks in advance.

Hi , you don’t say what your XRC controller power supply is - however.
If it’s Japanese supply then it’s 3x phase 210volts +/- 10% @ 1kw.
If it’s fitted with transformer for -
- Europe - 3x phase 385v >> 210 volts +/- 10% @ 1kw.
- North America - 3x phase xxxxx >> 210 volts +/- 10% @ 1kw.
Etc etc.
Although documentation might say 1.5kw or 2kw , you can quite successfully use 1 kw
Supply as very seldom will the load ever exceed 1 kw unless it’s fitted with extra Servo’s
and even then most transformers will take % over current for reasonable periods of time.
Cable supply size will depend on your country’s regulations , however, 2.5 mm 3x phase +E
as a “minimum” should suffice .
Hope this helps
Thanks a lot, I have chosen 3x phase 4mm cable for my robot.
