I am just trying to find out which Software Rev. level DCS availability started at. Basically how old of a robot would have the DCS option? We are working on updating a previously installed robot and would like to use DCS, but it is V6.40, and I'm pretty sure that is too old for DCS. The F# is only 5 digits F6xxxx, I'm used to robots always having a 6-digit F#.

I searched this forum and the Fanuc DCS manual and couldn't find any definitive answers. I would just call Fanuc, but it always seems to take forever to get someone on the phone on a Monday. From what I could find searching it looks like DCS showed up or is at least compatible with V7.0 and newer. Please correct me if that is incorrect.

    Thanks for any help.

My understanding is that DCS was added at V7 (not available for RJ3iB but can be added to RJ3iC)
earlier than 7.5 versions had very limited DCS functions.
After 7.5 DCS is when it received all the good Functions that you find on the newer robots now.

    hope this helps

Yes, the V7.50 o newer is the recommended. V7.70 and newer supports ethernet I/P safety and the DCS visualization.
