Works with Ford's Fast Template. Reduces the robot to a glorified servo, all logic decisions are done in the PLC (Siemens). End-of-arm tooling is controlled not by the robot I/O but a PLC remote rack mounted to the arm. Robot has home, maintenance, pounce, and work positions. Robot routines are programmed to move from pounce-to-pounce, pounce-to-work, work-to-pounce, and so on. Again, all decisions are made in the PLC. Hope that helps.
I implemented it at Ford Cleveland, Ohio engine plant. Gives all control to the HMI, and makes it so that the operator should never have to go to the Flex Pendant.
