    Hi All

I just Install version 8.30 for roboguide but would not create a cell from a robot backup, if I change the robot backup to 8.20 or 8.10 in the Backdate.DT file would create the cell without issues is only with the 8.30 Version, I try two different robots and the roboguide stops at the same point. I attach a screenshot for the screen i got in roboguide, does not show up any kind of errors, just got to that point and stays there forever. I tried with Version 8.30 (REV.A) & (REV.D) and same thing.

    Any Ideas ??

    Regards

I assume the robot you took the backup from is not V8.30.

If that is the case, restore the robot in its original version, then reserialize the robot to the version you want. Directly editing the backdate.dt file won't work.

Ahh, sorry for misreading the question.

What method are you using to take the backups? I've had issues in the past where a backup was taken via FTP with ASCII mode turned on.

I've had this issue before. The answer from Fanuc was that the robot's software version is simply NOT supported by RoboGuide at the moment and the solution was downgrading the software to a version supported by RG. This went pretty quickly, as I only had to send the AoA+Img backups to them and they sent me a new Img back after a couple of hours.

Wouldn't upgrading your copy of RG work as well? "REV.A & REV.D" are pretty old.

The problem I had was with the newest RG revision (L or M at that time), which still did not support the newest robot software.

I am having this same issue. How do I revert roboguide to v8.20? When I try to create the program a screen pops up saying to run the FRVRC V8.20 Setup, however I do not believe I have this.

I believe you should be able to download what you need for V8.2 from the cRc site.

The only thing specific to v8.20 that I see on there is Robot Server v8.20. Is that what I need to download?

there were a few bugs in early 8.3.... It is up to rev M
But 9 is out and so far I have not had issues, but if you don't have a universal license, get 8.3 rev M

    Oh, well

I have the Rev M version of 8.3 and it still does not allopw me to create a cell using the backup. Do you think version 9 would allow me to do so? When I try to create the cell from the backup it prompts me to open a v8.2 setup which I do not have and cannot find.

When you install roboguide it asks which robot software versions you want installed. Try reinstalling and select all available and see if works.
