    Hello to all...

I'm working on an ABB IRC5 robot with Fronius arc welding. The smartac signal is working correctly when I touch wire on the part. I have correct voltage above 35 volts at both points (wire and gas cup), but the digital input only acts with the wire contact.

How can I swich de signal to act when I touch de gas Cup on the part?

    Thank you!

Our system uses a liquid cool torch and it has the electrical installed for wire sense. The torch didnt seem to support nozzle sensing and wire sensing. We concluded if we needed to cup sensing, we could run a second line down the whip and attach to the nozzle and just have a plug at the feeder you can swap when you need the cup sense. That was our work around.

Assuming this is a MIG/MAG welding setup, the shroud (cup?) is normally insulated from the contact tip/wire.

    Morning Guys!

If you want to measure the part with the cup, will be necessary to use an specific Tool Weld from Fronius, not a Binzel for example and make configuration in the machine.

    Sorry my bad inglesh...

If you are using the Touch sense from the Fronius, you will need to add a RC circuit from the cup to the wire.
