I just did a init reset on the controller. Do I need to load software back into the controller? If so, what software and where do I get it?

If you have an image you can reload that....
If you have done an INIT without any image backups or the MC or USB that came with the unit....
You might want to call Fanuc with the F number......... -
Thank you... That is what I thought. Thought we had the USB. I sent a msg to Fanuc this morning and am waiting for their response.

I can tell you what their response will be, send us $300 for a new USB stick.

An INIT start does not remove the software, but it does remove all settings and programs.
You need an al of the above back up to get you programming and settings back. -
Hmmm.... removing all of the settings an so so many old programs and settings is what we resetting for. This particular unit has been used on a couple different projects by engineers that are no longer available. As a new engineer, I was attempting to start fresh so to speak.
The teach pendant now shows a couple of options for software.
Soo I am not exactly sure if software is necessary or not.

Do an all of the above back up and post the Summary.dg file here

Racermike123 is right. The INIT start just brings the controller to a "factory state". It is now requesting a setup - the software is clean, which means no programs, no frames, no payload definitions, but also no IO- or axes' config etc. The first thing you'll need to do is perform the robot (and external axes) configuration - this can be done automatically (for the robot, not external axes). After that, you'll be able to cold-start the controller and move the robot, but you'll need to do the rest of the setup to bring the robot back to life as it was.
