What to do?
I see the PNS and Strobe input signals on the teach pendant but the SNO's do not go true along with the SNACK signal.
If I toggle the SNO's and SNACK outputs on and off, I see their states change in the PLC.
I swapped I/O board with a known good one and the problem is still there.
What could be the problem?
Fanuc RJ2 does not process the PNS when the PNS Strobe is true

Verifiy UOP[1] CMDENBL is on. It must be on to process PNS.
-
also make sure uop in enabled
-
Are there interconnects that need setup?

Yes, The UOP CMDENBL is on and all interconnects to the PLC are verified.

Is "Enable UI Signals" set to true on the config screen?
-
The PNS timing diagram in the setup & operations manual gives good info.
Check to make sure variable $SHELL_CFG.$PNS_ENABLE =TRUE
Since you didn't list any errors, we can assume there are none.
Ctrl Start might help. -
Skooter, you are correct there are no errors, the robot does nothing when the plc sends the robot the PNS and strobe. The "$SHELL_CFG" and "$PNS_ENABLE" are TRUE.
pdl - the UI or UOP is enabled.
Fortunately for me this is a dual robot cell and we are running a job that requires only one robot and it is the one that is not an issue. But when we go back to the dual robot job I will need to have this issue resolved. It looks like I will have to reload the software this seems to be the only viable option, unless someone has another suggestion.

what PLC are you using to send PNS?
-
Is the robot set-up to select programs using the PNS method? Go to MENU - SETUP - Prog Sel to check it.
-
Since you have the luxury of a robot setup the same way near it, try comparing setup & config data. Perhaps something in one of the I/O configs?
Does it have a background edit or task running?
Have you tried Cold Start (power on holding SOP reset button in)?
Clear the Alarm log, perform Cold Start and then check the alarm history and see if there are any alarms that you don't normally see.
Run the PNS program in teach to verify the PNS program you're trying to call still works.
Is there an offset in the PNS config?Just throwing a bunch of ideas to see if something sticks. Good Luck!!

What I found is the UOP was set to disable in the System Variables under "OPWORK" I highlight "OPWORK" and hit enter then scrolled down to line 9 "UOP DISABLE" and it is suppose to be zero for the UOP to work.
I changed it to zero and rebooted the robot. All good now. Thanks to everyone.

can any one give me The PNS timing diagram in the setup & operations manual??

Nobody here can tell you what this DO means, without more informations.
Best would be a complete AOA backup of your controller.
Think the best possibility is that you have a ladder program on your robot that uses this DO.
And by the way: you should have opened a new post instead of hijacking a more than two years old post that has nothing to do with your question.

Ran into DO[10xxx]s before. They were coming from the PMC, driven by K bits. See if you have PMC & if anyone can take a look at it in Fanuc Ladder 3.
