Convert XRC from Spot Welding to Arc Welding

    I'm in the initial investigation stages of converting a welding cell from spot welding to arc welding. The mechanical side of converting I think I have a decent handle on. What if anything is required to switch the control. Will Yaskawa need to be involved or is it something we can do in house?

    I you want to change application from Spot to Arc you must initialize your controller. therefore you need contact with YASKAWA for it because it only can do with high level password.

    If you are going to be spot welding with a servo gun then you may also need to add an external axis. Most servo gun spot welding is done with R1+S1 rather than R1 jobs. Contact Yaskawa to get more details on this.
