    Hi guys,

I am trying to do some ofline tests for my Safe IO Connect logic in Roboguide. Is it possible to simulate safe inputs (SFDIs aka. SPIs) in Roboguide? I know there is no such option available directly (like the I/O Panel Utility for non-safe signals), but maybe there is a way...

    thanks in advance

There is a way. It is under the I/O Interconnects item under the cell menu. I usually just connect one of the robot's outputs to a SFDI when I have to test stuff like this.

Check out the Fanuc position converter I wrote here! Now open source!

Check out my example Fanuc Ethernet/IP Explicit Messaging program here!

I'm reopening this useful subject to simulate safety using roboguide.

I don't see any way to simulate Safety input, inside Interconnect MENU you can simulated a output using SI[X]-->DO[X] but not the other way. Any help ? thanks

You could use NSIs and create the required logic/ IO connections in DCS Safe IO Connect.

Edit : it is possible using Roboguide menu and not the teach pendant menu

Go to roboguide --> CELL--> I/O interconnect --> Choose a DO and link it to SPI.

Might be useful for other, I don't think it is possible using the teach which is fine, safety input are usually not made to be force.

It works with DO-->to DI but not DO--> SPI see attachement , Anyone has an idea why it doesn't work?

It works for me. I dont think "Simulate" needs to activated for DO. Maybe the DO is controlled elsewhere (PLC)? I would suggest trying a different DO.

    hello Anand,

Do you see the status going from OFF to ON on the DCS Safe I/O status?

do you have any config on the DO you just force Rack ,slot etc...?

    thank

Yes it does get updated in DCS Safe I/O Status. I used one DO which was assigned to MemPort Rack 0 Slot 0.

I ask fanuc support It also work for them,

i try different SSI just to be sure, and also to config the DO with rack 0 , it doesn't works atm....

Also I try with a fresh new cell and it does work, i'll invistigate why it doesn't work on my cell

    Finally working

Here is how it must be done, it might help other people too!

My R-30ib compact plus is equipped with a safety I/O module CRMA90. I did a backup without configuring the CRMA first.

You MUST initialiazed first your safe I/O device into the real robot then do a backup of this real robot once the config is made.

Then upload your AoA back to roboguide and interconnect your SPI with a DO as describe above.

Picture of the DSC config before and after.
