hi, i just want to know if anybody know how to transfer the fanuc option? i have two robots, robot 1 with option 1 and robot 2 with option 2. I just want to transfer option 2 to robot 1 so that robot 1 have both options and robot 2 blank. Usually on the ABB that we can manually transfer the license without cost anything but on fanuc robot it more money for license tranfering than buy the option with doesnt make sense

If both robots are similar and have the same controller ID (which happens if both came from the same order), most probably restoring the destination robot by the source robot image will activate the option.
Otherwise, the option must be purchased.
The mastering, data registers, frames, communication setup, etc must be backed prior to loading another robot image, and restored after.

Do it well right away. It will become bad by itself.

I think that is not possible. Since you have only one option in each robot, even image back up would not be helpful. Adding image of another robot will erase the prior option on robot and you would have both the robots with exact option.

If you have setup files (usually come with all options available), edit the order file according to the options you need and load it to the controller.

    Hope this helps.

FANUC Robot Options are purcha$ed, therefore whatever you bought in Robot 1 stays in 1, you cannot transfer options even through an Image load.

You have to call FANUC and give them the Fnumber plus the option code e.g. J587, in return they will give you a PAC(product activation code) for that option, once you have this code you will have to enter it in order to activate the option in robot #2.

    different options, different prices.

Option is not the same as a license.

Your FANUC robot needs to be licensed in order to get help from FANUC.
You FANUC robot needs an option in order to perform specific tasks.

You could load the "core software" from Robot #1 onto Robot #2 and that will transfer the options

    I all,

Anyone knows what I need to install for using force sensor from fanuc? We used once, but in the other robot the package was installed previously. The controller is R-30ib mate plus

    Regards!

Load the backdate.dt file from the previous robot into Roboguide and it will tell you which options are loaded.
