Good morning, I created a program that has 8 pics and drops in it. Of the 8 actions to open or close the grippers 3 do not work? All the code is the same for the commands. Should I have written 4 separate programs and just called them from one main program with the call command?
Thank You
John

42I'm fairly well versed in Kuka robots, and I don't understand this reference. How is this helpful? What's wrong with either answering the question or not replying at all? It's a serious question that isn't just directed at one user, but at the community as a whole. I've seen a lot of responses lately that only seem to admonish the OP for not having the knowledge they're coming here to gain. I don't have a problem pointing someone in the direction of a manual or a previous post. But if I were new to Kuka robots and looked over some of the forum posts here, I'd be hesitant to ask my questions.

JohnGenerally speaking, it is good practice to use a subprogram/macro to do repeated tasks like gripper open/close. Any chance you can post some code for us to look at? My first guess, not having seen your program, is that the Advance Run pointer is playing tricks on you. Try searching your manuals for the variable $ADVANCE and the term "Advance Run" and that will get you going down that path. Of course, I could be completely wrong. It would be good to see the code.

https://www.robot-forum.com/robotforum/kuk…rum/read-first/if you want others to help you, try to:
a) be specific
b) provide enough info
c) review it before posting (use proper language... i understand 'pics' to be short for 'pictures' not sure what you mean though, 8 pictures in a program or either picks) -
I need help with a program I am trying to create. First off, I am limited to programming only with the teach pendant, I have no access with lap top as of yet. Also I am self-teaching myself so I am not very well versed in the programming of the Kuka robot. I have created a program to pick up parts from one nest, and drop parts into a second nest, there are a total of 4 pickups and four drops of parts to the nests, with a loop command added for continuous run as a display for upper management as to how the robot works. So I have put all of the moves into one program, all of the pickups and drops were done exactly the same way, by using the out command from the logic tab. all of the opening and closing of the grippers work except for 3 of the 8 programmed. ? Is the reason the 3 are not working a result of a conflict with in my program that may require additional coding or does the Kuka not support such coding? resulting in me having to create those moves in separate folders, and then creating a main program with call commands to call the grippers separately.
Thank You

so I have copy and pasted the moves and commands to a subdirectory program, and the same pick ups and drops of parts still do not work ? how does a command become corrupted and not function.
thanks -
fold and folder are not quite the same thing but either way - they have no impact on program execution, they are just used to organize things nicer visually.
if you are writing programs offline and bringing them to KRC, you need to use HMI funciton to copy and paste (do not do it on windows level).
if you are writing programs using KCP (as you indicated), HMI will ensure that your commands are correct if you use inline forms. but if you chose to login and type commands - you are on your own.
how about the gripper? how many outputs are used to control it? if more than one (which is common) when you set output to OPEN, you should also reset CLOSE output and the other way around.
you were already asked to read "read first" and provide sample of your code for review. without this we can only guess.

I've seen a lot of responses lately that only seem to admonish the OP for not having the knowledge they're coming here to gain.yes there are people who come to learn (myself included), but... this is "Kuka robotics" and not "learn to read, write and follow instructions" forum.

we both joined forum at the same time... something is holding you back?

But if I were new to Kuka robots and looked over some of the forum posts here, I'd be hesitant to ask my questions.me too, i am all for doing research first ( manuals, older posts, use search function...). if and when something is to be asked, should include clear and complete info.
