It tells what to install from a floppy - there shouldn't be any downloading necessary (or possible?)
after i a new key disk the system installed fine.... looks like they key disk may have been corupted..... yea (never painless) I will be working on making it weld today. Thanks guys
Okay everyone the robot software is on and controlling the robot.
My next question is about PIB boards there is a pib board for welding interface for miller deltaweld 452 I am not sure would the robot need software to take control of the pib board? when i try to wire feed the wire in manual forward or back in the controller it will not move as well as the gas on manual it will not do anything. any ideas would be great.
I think I found in one of the files a pib file it looks like it has rapid file along with robot configuration files. any idea how to install this software?
Thanks,
jason
or should the software be added directly to the pib board?
Hello,
Thank you guys for all your help. I have attached the files that I have been trying to load into the robot but I have get an error on the controller that says an unusually large number of errors and will shut the external I/O off. Is there a particular order that I need to load these in or are there just specific ones? We are using a Miller Deltaweld 452 power supply and a Miller 115v dc wire feed.
Thanks,
Jason
That disc / parameters is intended to be booted in instead of just loaded in.
Are you using the PIB controller for the wirefeeder or is it controlled by the powersource ?
The wire feeder is controlled by the PIB.
how do i boot it in are you talking about after the boot disk are installed, and if ask if there is any other software that we want to install? or is there a way to do it after the software is installed?
Thanks,
Jason
I have two different ways
Other windows> system Parameters>file>add new parameters> then I loaded them in one at a time out of the file
the other way i tried i went thought loading the boot disk and at the end when it ask if there was any other software i selected yes and it started to load pibuser files and another file.
is this wrong or how do i need to go about loading it?
Thanks,
Jason
Your 2nd ("the other way") alternative is the normal way to install it, but that only installs PIB though since that's what on that disc.
Depending on your system (positioner etc) you normally have another disc that will configure the whole station (at least if it was delivered by ABB),
if it's a system built from scratch then the power source, positioner etc needs to be configured as well.
Do you have an backup from when the system was functioning ?
I have one other file called solution2.rsstn is this what i need, no i do not have a back up from last time it was up and running. I will most differently make one if i can get it back up and running.
There is no positioner but there is a bullseye and a tough gun reamer. I dont have to have those set up right away i mainly just want to get this thing welding so i can get some production on it and off me.
Okay so I did a cold start reinstalled the key disk and boot disk after it got done with the boot disk and it ask any option disk to install insert option boot disk and press okay i did that and it loaded PIB files and PIBuser files. then when the system restarted it says access error from io 71139 and 71104 errror on I/O bus
71104 Error on IO bus said an abnormal rate of errors on the base bus has been detected the connectors for external can Io and robot can I/O has been switched off.
is this normal did i miss installing something since i did not get the miller config installed?
Thanks,
I assume the I/O unit it is referring to is the PIB ?
Verify the connections / cabling of the communication / can-bus for PIB, see attached:
When the BaseWare is cleared off with a C-Start or by the batteries running out you must go through and load the BaseWare and then restore your backup of the parameters and programs from your backup, if you have one. So to do this you must have 1 System Key Disk and 8 to 10 BaseWare disk and your backup disk. You start with the System Key disk which tells the controller what Baseware to load and what software options to load with the Baseware. So when you put in the System key disk when it prompts for it, it will read it very fast, this is normal. Next it will ask for disk 1 of the BaseWare disk. This will take some time to load and then it should ask for Disk 2, then Disk 3. At this point it will do a reboot of the controller and then come back up and ask for Disk 4. After loading disk for you have basically loaded the BaseWare, but now it must load the RAPID text files and the software options that came with your robot. This will be Disk 5,6,7,8,9,10. Depending on if you are loading ArcWare it may skip disk 5 and 6 and ask for Disk 7. This is normal. Once you get past the last disk and it reboots it should come backup. If at any point during this process it hangs up then you probably have a bad Memory board or could have a bad Main computer board. Good luck finding one of these as they are very hard to find now. As for the other disk talk about in the previous post, like the manipulator disk...etc. You do not need these disk unless you don't have a good backup. Hope this helps!
I have done a c-start a few times and have sucessfully installed the boot disk or base ware my problem now is trying to control the welding settings such as dowirefeed dogas exc trying to figure out what other software i need to install and how i need to install and configure it. I have a bunch of files that i have been told need to be boot installed rather than loaded such as the pib files with files dose it need it is a miller power supply with a miller wire feeder.
