driving non-kuka servo motor

    Hi,

    Is it possible to use non-kuka servo motor as external axis's motor? and How to config it?
    would someone like to explain this how it is implemented?

    KUKA motor is Siemens motor. If you found suitable resolver type and if you know motor parameters (e.g moment of inertia, winding resistance etc.) you can use any motor brand. E.g. Aro servo gun motor is ARO and already used with kuka robots.

    we are going to use simens motor , but not in the catalog of kuka motor. we would like to know how to config it. where should we start with this ?

    You can't found KUKA motor code (like 1FK6081) in Siemens catalog or vice versa. Because motors especially manufactured by Siemens for KUKA and Siemens motor type not visible in axis configurator. You can't found product code in Siemens database, it is a OEM product. But motor technical specifications is very similar. I suggest read carefully External Axis Configuration Manual. Please find manual in forum.
