You will need to know if it is an extended axis or a separate motion group.
You will need the motor type, the amplifier type, the gear ratio of the reducer and you will need to know the upper and lower limits of the axis and the mastering position.
There is a load variable that you can guess.
There are 3 accel parameters that need to be set.
You will need to know where the brake output is coming from and if there is a brake timeout and how long the timeout will be.
If you have an identical setup you can copy the settings.
Is this axis going to be used in DCS? Trust me this makes a huge difference on where the axis lies. It can either be a 7th axis or a group 2 axis 1.
If you have control manual for your controller there should be an appendix with chapters about positioner and extended axis setup.
