    Hello,
We have error 1101 in one of UX120 robots that has C controller. This error comes almost one times during each 8 hours of production and we need to re-start the controller to reset it. We replaced the 1GA board to solve this problem, but after that teach pendant is not works. See attached photo for current situation. Please help me to solve this problem. Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi najafabadi

The 1GA/1HA CPU board should contain firmware:
AS (edit here - This has to compatible with TP firmware)
    SV
TP (edit here - this firmware is stored on TP not 1GA and needs to be compatible with AS firmware)
C Controller Teach Pendants are not interchangeable between other C Controllers unless AS (CPU board) and TP firmware is compatible

This board cannot just be replaced and expect it to work.
Required AS/SV/TP (firmware) need to be loaded to replacement, then robot file save loaded and then you should be ok.

So I have questions for you:

    1. Have you loaded up AS/SV/TP firmware to new board.
    2. Have you a recent robot file save - ie .as file backup.
    - This contains correct AS/SV/TP Firmware revision reference - I need this information?
    - Below is example of information required (in bold).

    .***************************************************************************
    .* AS Version : version 304E0TJJ 03/11/28 20:10 --------------------- This is AS revision
    .* TP Version : version T04E0TCJ 03/11/28 20:08 --------------------- This is TP revision
    .* No = 1 ƒT[ƒ{ : A1B5R+F105 2003.12.23 --------------------------- This is SV revision
    .* : F937 2003.12.23 (FS010E-A001)
    .***************************************************************************

I suspect replacement 1GA/1HA is not correctly prepared for operation, either:
    1. No/Incorrect firmware exists in replacement board.
    2. AS and TP revision are incompatible.

Let me know details and I maybe able to assist you further.

    Hello,
Thank you for your detailed and complete reply. We didn't load any software in the board and actually after replacing the board, TP does not work to let us do anything. Also we don't know how we can load any software to system boards except backup/restore of programs.
By the way I will check the backups of .as files by notepad and send you the versions soon.
Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi najafabadi

Loading and backing up programs is completely different as it is for user data only.
Firmware revisions are for bug fixes and updates (not like windows etc - only required for replacement/bug fixes), so regular updates are not required.
Replacing the board requires these files to be loaded up prior, then your user program data etc.
On the 1GA/1HA there are 8 dipswitches (small red block at the top of board).
No.1 is ON for normal running - all others OFF also check that is correct?
These dipswitches are used in order to download AS/SV and TP revisions.

    - If you don't have a copy of a recent backup, stick the old cpu board back in (you maybe lucky and not lost/corrupt data with no battery being connected).....and do a backup from that.

If you can locate those details, I should be able to assist you further.

    Hello,
We found following in .as backup files:
    .***************************************************************************
    .* AS Version : version 200L0K9J 99/10/07 GA0001--------------------- This is AS revision
    .* TP Version : version T00L0K3J 99/11/19 JT001--------------------- This is TP revision
    .* No = 1 ƒT[ƒ{ : A1B0E-YC30 99/02/29 (UX120-E001)--------------------------- This is SV revision

I will check dip switches soon.
    Thank you for everything.

    :icon_eek: :icon_eek: :icon_eek:

    WOW.....They are very old versions.......

Ok, I have located the following:
200L0KAJ ----AS Revision - This is the next version up and should work ok.
T00L0K3J ---TP Revision - Same reference to your backup.
B0EYC30 ----SV Revision - Same reference to your backup.

If you want them I need to send them to you including a procedure to upload and I cannot send via PM......can you PM me your email (do not post it here).
The procedure is very long winded and you need 1 correctly formatted PCMCIA Card (hmmm, this maybe a problem, the age of yours may only accept a 1Mb, but may accept upto 16Mb).
The procedure normally takes around 45 mins, so plenty of time for coffee......

I cannot accept any liability should things not go right (I have never had any problems before), so it's entirely upto you if you want to give it a try.
Let me know if you want to try it out...................

    Hello,
Thank you for your great help. I do the job after reading everything. By the way is it possible to load these programs from similar robots and transfer them to this robot? There is another one in the factory.

    Hi
I am not sure what you mean:

If you mean, can you transfer firmware files from one robot to another, then answer is no.
If you mean, can you transfer a process data (User Programs) from one robot to another then yes.**

    - Overview on a simple backup -
This contains all system settings, parameters, zeroing values and user programs/locations/variables etc relative to that robot.
If you transfer complete backup from one robot to another - then you would create many problems including re-zeroing motors incorrectly - which could cause error or more importantly cause robot to move incorrectly - damage or harm may occur.

**You can extract information from a backup to transfer to another robot because data is save as text and can be viewed/modified in any text editor - eg Notepad.
Therefore you can use notepad to extract, create new text file and load it into other controller......much safer way of doing things.

Hello All, I have the same problem with AA Robot for semiconductor use.
I need to backup the controller , so I can use this in case of breakage.
Can you help me to do this operation on this controller with RS232?
Below, there are the configuration data of the controller from .as file:

    .* AS Version : version 001C0PYE 02/11/26 16:25
    .* TP Version : DISCONNECTED
    .* No1 AMP 5008 5008 5008 No2 AMP 5008 5008 5008
    .* No3 AMP 5008
    .* Application Version : AM105L2E.apl

Many thanks in advance for your help.
