We currently have about 100 weld programs looking at one weld schedule on our teach pendant. From day one of installing the 2 station weld cell, the welding material types and thicknesses have been very common from one program to the next. There are about 30 weld parameters available. We have populated about 25 of them. Visibility on where the weld schedules are being used is cumbersome at this point. If you want to tweak anything, you have to populate say #26 if the available 25 are not suitable. I'm sure several of the 1 thru 25 were abandoned, but you would have to scan 100 programs to discover. So as things stand now, I'm running out of available weld parameters, especially if we want to program new materials or thicknesses. I need to know how to better manage this issue.
One thought is to finally get this hooked up to the network, so I can upload and download each program as needed, so that the WVSCHED.SV would be specific to the file I want to run on cell 1, every time. But then there is a problem with wanting to have a second program loaded to run the "second cell", it would be dependent on the same weld schedule that cell 1 is using.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to better manage this?
Thank you,
Jerod
