PRIO-600 Profinet Error

  • I just walked onto a project and they want me to get profinet comms up, but the robot posts a PRIO-600 PNIO board not installed warning on every boot. PLC guys says he can't see the board in the robot from step 7. It is a CP1604 board. Robot is a R-30iB running 8.20 HandlingTool.

I followed what the manual says, and reseated the board, but same error still occurs. Sounds like I might have a bad board.

Anyone get this error before? If so, how did you resolve it?

  • If the S7 and the controller doesn't find the board, I think the solution is swap it.

BUT, did you try search the board with these other Siemens tool, like Proneta or PST?

For curiosity: is a VW FANUC?

  • Did a board swap, and found that the controller finds the swapped out board.

Called up Fanuc, and tech support determined that I have a bad board. Thankfully the robot is still under warranty. Sending it into them today to get a replacement.
