I am working on a project where we plan to pick parts from a bin with a magnet gripper.
We have something like this in mind:

We would like to be able to detect whether the gripper has gripped a part or not. Schmalz do have sensors for the grippers, but those sensors are only for telling the position of the piston inside the gripper.
The parts in question might be dangling from the magnet, so we will not always be able to detect them with an inductive sensor next to the magnet. A load sensor above the magnet could solve the problem, but that solution is too complex in our case.
Do any of you have a good suggestion for how to solve this problem?
