    Hi guys!

I'm new here. I hope somebody can help me :help:

The story: We buy a used Adept 550 SCARA robot, with a MV5 controller. The controller break down during operation. After restart the controller dont boot up, and the terminal port don't response.

We change the 030 CPU board, and install the system from floppy. (V+ 11.4 - from adept support.) The original system files recovered from the hard drive, but we cant install to a new - the equipment dont boot up with this.

The RS232 port is ok, the controller boot up corretly from hard drive again. After boot the NVRAM data is invalid. I initialize the NVRAM using config_c, set up the controller S/N - it is ok.

The problem: After boot, i see on the terminal window the following message: Option not installed, Robot module not enabled.

I made pictures before and after breakdown: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=…bVU&usp=sharing

Somebody write for me that we need a licence, but the former owner cant find the documentation. So, we dont have this sheet...

Please help me, how can I install, and enable the robot!

    Thanks for all!

    Best regards,
    Robert

Sorry, not much to offer. I had some abrupt weirdness a few times with a controller like that. I discovered my easiest solution was to apply proper grounding methods to myself, then pull each board, wipe down the connector terminals well (maybe even spray on some contact cleaner), and then re-seat. Sometimes, that was all that was necessary. Those controller board bus connectors tended to get some extra capacitance in the pins.

    Hi,

Are you still looking for it or did it end up in the dumpster?

    Hello,

I have the same problem, nearly 10 years later, did you manage to solve it then?

    Best Regards

    Martin
