I'm planing a new robot installation and i am in the process of choosing which communication protocol we are going to use to talk to an external HMI. All logics are done with the robot PMC and the IO communication between the PMC and HMI side (PC based system) is pretty simple.
My goal is to make the commissioning as easy as possible. Which protocol is in your opinion the easiest, most reliable and least painfull to setup for FANUC robots?
In my last project modbus was used but i had big problems with dropouts and errors with the communication and it was a pain to get it working properly..
