Password Protection. Disabling robot motion / jogging.

    I am seeking password protection advice. In my shop I currently have password protection set with an install, 2 setup, and 2 programmers. My question is this, when there is nobody logged in the default setting is operator. An operator can still jog the robot manually and pick / run robot programs. I was curious if there was a way to make the robots un-movable by default and in turn, have the operators only be able to press the cycle start button on our operator panel. I have not been able to find any help on-line or in the robot manual. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Oh, the robot in question is an ArcMate 100iBe with a R-J3iC controller.

    My only other option that I have thought about is putting the teach pendants themselves in locked boxes.

    I don't think the password xml (later controllers) influences jogging

    I would suggest even if available, to leave jogging open for safety reasons

    Not sure if Job->Detail protection will prevent an operator from running a program, but certainly you can prevent access to the program list screen with password

    closest thing i could find. not completely what you want. i would probably make a karel program that just keeps them from using the jog keys on the TP , force and alarm or something when one of them is pressed.
