    Hello everybody,

Any ceiling installion experience for KUKA KR125/2 KRC1? I'm just curious about the possible problems may happen.
Documents show that ceiling installation is possible.

If this robot normally floor mounted, ceiling or another mount type it's not possible.

As Fluke says, there are hardware differences between a Floor and Ceiling mounted KR. The main one (that I know of) is that the counterbalance must work in the opposite direction to counteract gravity. On some models, it may be possible to swap the counterbalance and perform the other changes in software, but I can't speak to the KR125 specifically.

Aside from that, things are fairly normal. If I recall correctly, setting the robot as Ceiling mount rotates $WORLD such that Z+ is still "up".

Swapping out the A1 motor becomes a serious pain. Reaching the RDW connector for the EMT becomes an adventure as well -- a scissor-lift or similar device is just about required.

    Thank you.
Data sheet shows it is possible (see attachment)!

No, the spec sheet says that the robot can be purchased with that option. That's not the same as saying that the same robot can be moved from a Floor mount to a Ceiling mount.

You need to order the correct counter balance fie a ceiling mount from kuka I don't have a part number but it might just be the pressure I will check later

Last friday I visited mercedes benz factory in Bremen. At the end of press shop there are 2 KRC1 KR125 robots that installed on the ceiling and handling the parts to conveyor. Unfortunately no one there to answer technical questions about counter balance. Also taking photo was forbidden during the visit.
If anyone wants to see them can booked a factory visit from the link http://www.bremen-tourism.de/mercedes-benz-factory-tour-bremen
They show you only press and trim shop.
