Not sure why you would need to change the PM?

The robot is a KR 200 C1, the c1 controller is damaged and going to get a used C2 for replacement, what if the c2 ac servo driver does not match the motors on KR200 robot?
-
The C2 uses a servo amp for each axis, but depending on the rating you may need to swap some out.
What robot are you using and what was the C2 controller used on?

This is the robot:

The krc1 in the video is damaged. I haven't purchased krc2 controller yet, just making sure I get the right one.

that is just a video clip of the 6-axis robot, it does not show model number, motor part numbers or other useful info (looks like KR150...KR240).
if you are getting KRC2 controller, you need to make sure that drives in the cabinet match size of the motors.
If you buy more than one controller, then you can mix and match drives (some of my customer buy their robots in bulk on auctions: for this very reason + spare parts).
drives come in sizes of 8A, 16A, 32A and 48A. all drives have label on their front. 8A and 16A are same physical size, 32A is wider, and 48A is even wider.
A1 drive is in lower light corner, then going to the left you get A2, A3 and A4.
Row above is from right to left A5...A8. If the KRC2 cabinet was used for custom robots (MC for cartesian etc. robot types) then you are likely to see fewer drives (2-4).

Thanks for the info.
I will have a look at the motors once I return to Asia. Currently on vacation. -
Panic Mode,
You mentioned about buying robots in bulk on auction, where is this " auction" place?, I'm quite interested. -
don't know, didn't care at the time (best to avoid temptation, wife would kill me if I bring more stuff home), will ask next time I talk to them...
i guess property of companies that go out of business is sold at very attractive process. what i have seen looked very nice.
one thing they mentioned was to make sure to "be there when riggers start taking things apart...".
apparently they don't care if packed robot and cabinet match and if there is anything in a way (cable) they tend just cut it. -
I heard of this and I seen this in Japan, they sell by weight!, eg 1 ton for xxxdollars or yen, and the parts are very good condition.
The place you mentioned is it in UK? -
No, I think it is in USA (I am in Canada, close to the border...)
-
I heard some used robot supplier bought their robots from BMW and VW and that's a lot of robot. Just curious how much he paid for all that robots.

I know Global Robots, I visited there in year 2009, is near Honda Plant.

Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a robot like this one : http://www.machineseeker.com/A1421506.html and wondering what could be the cost to go with a krc2. Can tell me approximatively in best case and worst case !
Thank you !!

If you can i should avoid buying a VKrc2 an look for a normal krc2. you can work with a vkrc but there are some things to consider before buying one.
1. Hardware is different from normal krc, for example plugs on the bottom are not wired the same
2. No I/O, Vkrc are standard without any form of in and outputs. you can ad I/O by adding a devicenet module or something like that.
3. No automatic operation, only automatic external. this means that you either have to buy a plc with it to get it working ore wire a devicenet module with buttons and get it to work that way.
4. Software, the software is different from the standard krl. it may be a little bit harder to programmThe devicenet module i keep mensioning could also be profibus, interbus or something else. depends on what cards are installed.

Ok thanks Leon I mean a KRC2 not VKRC2 (I don't know the difference ...)
So the same question as previous but for an upgrade from KRC1 to KRC2.
Thanks !

Personally i would recommend buying a robot with a KRC2 directly. Switch from KRC1 to KRC2 are possibly (Like when the KRC1 is damaged) but if you search in this forum about the procedure, you'll see it can get complicated quickly. For the price difference I'm not sure it's worth it.
Maybe more something like this :
http://www.machineseeker.com/A1637312/KUKA-KR150-KR-150.HTMLBy the way, VKRC2 are Volkswagen-KRC2, means they have Volkswagen special configuration, like Leon said.

Hi
You can find robot and contoller at http://www.eurobots.net -
