The maintenance manager here has asked me to help him find alternative vendors for the Shell Alvania RA-J grease need for our Nachi robots. Obviously he is looking to save a few $$ via buying it from a vendor other than Nachi themselves. Also he asked if there was a safe alternative to using Alvania RA-J grease. If any of you kind gentlemen know anything helpful please let me know.

Hi, , manufacturers warranty's rely on you using the recommended greases. Please think carefully before changing greases to save a couple of cents , how many times do we hear of bean counters saving cents on maintenance only to lose $'s with breakdowns. Your savings per year- per machine - might only amount to $250.
Personal observation. -
Oh I totally agree and after doing some looking I found that we get a 20% discount from Nachi lol. So it's a case of us not having proper information handed down to us. I let the manager know and all has been worked out. Thanks for the info!
