Mapping outputs to inputs from WorkVisual

Hello, i would like to map one $OUT directly to one $IN, creating a "software jumper cable" and let me write system variables without the need of a physical jumper cable or a PLC.

From inside WorkVisual, i configure signals as follows:

$IN[1] <- <- $OUT[1]
$IN[2] <- <- $OUT[2]
$IN[3] <- <- $OUT[3]

...

But when inside my SPS i try to

$OUT[1]=TRUE

the SmartPad says "I/O Linking: output $OUT[1] write-protected"
Note that the $IN[] are not yet mapped to any system variable in machine.dat

Is there a workaround for this or it isn't allowed?

Of course, WorkVisual allows me to do that (see attached image), i'm using KRC4.

no, with the runtime assignment $out[..]=$in[..] i happens that the $out signal becomes equal to an $in signal.
what I want to do is to make a "patch" from $in[] to an $out[] and, during runtime, call

$out[..]=TRUE

so all the signals and the system variables coupled with that $in will be triggered.

I would like to do some internal automatic reset of $conf_mess.
