Jogging robot without safety wirings connected

If this robots will have CI3 Extendend ESC card that is simply to check, all You need to have to prepare harting with bridges on pins for two safety channels (XS2 - output harting), could be in some variety of KRC2 cabinet - AK50 ? version some signals go on XS3 harting, just check inside of cabinet used pins.
Could be that You have to turn off communications (interbus, device net etc.).

With a krc4 you could do it, but you won't be able to move the robot without the required safety bridges as the old krc2 is not prepared for that.

Call kuka and ask for the electrical diagrams of the related harting. Was it x11?

Harting is a brand dedicated to manufacture industrial rugged plugs for a wide range of configurations. It would be like people would start calling robots as abb's.

on a KRC4 you can log in as admin and set start-up mode. this will allow you to play with robot in teach mode without anything tied to X11.
on older controllers (including KRC2) you must have jumper plug. connections for KRC2 jumper plug is here:

with Kuka all connectors are marked like that (X1, X20, X21, X31...).

Connector X11 is dedicated to safety circuit (estop, gates/light curtains,...).
Many connectors are Harting (so is X11 - except on compact controllers).
If I recall it is 108DD, size 24B insert that you would need, plus size 24 shell...

Every Kuka robot comes with a matching type kit of X11 connector (not assembled). You are supposed to use it to bring in your safety devices (door switches, light curtains, estops, whatever...).

Jumper plug is just what the name suggests - jumper. It is used by service technicians when troubleshooting. It is used to bypass "the unknown" (user made wiring and particular implementation of a safety circuit). But since this bypasses safety, it is to be used with caution to carry out service - not to run robot. There are safety standards and laws about robot safety and anyone using or altering anything on a robot cell is liable for things that go wrong (injury or property damage).

btw, you do not really really have to use Harting, same line of connectors is made by other brands too (Wieland, ILME, ...). Call your local suppliers to cross reference it for you. in fact for testing you don't need entire connector, just insert and some pins. then crimp (or solder) and off you go.

It has 4 rows for 16 pins.
Anybody can provide schematics, plz?!
