having a bit of a problem, though I am sure this has been asked before. Today I discovered something had cut the x31 cable(RDC connection) on an agilus. Luckily right near the end so 8 quick crimps(luckily I have all the harting tools and pins) and it was back in business(I think its wired right at least). BUt the KCP still shows no robot serial number in the robot data. I have tried pushing a project from before but still nothing. I have to admit I have never had to get very far into this realm and have no idea what the PID, CAL, RDC data do, other than knowing they store encoder position info, are related to the function of the absolute encoders, etc.
Where do I start? In the manual it says "check that the robot data match". Well they do, in the robot type it is correct, but no serial number. The only symptom seems to be it fails to activate the safe config. So if I open safety config it asks if I have changed the HDD, or the robot, etc. No matter which I select it instantly fails with little feedback. I am quite sure the RDC board isn't hurt, as just cutting an X31 cable wouldn't do that (would it!)? Its not like it shorted to a motor or something, it was really only nicked. Nice of the culprit to fess up(oh , wait, they didn't.....apparently they thought a little black tape would make that go away!) Of course I figure this out right when I go to teach a class on this machine.
Also it says no valid MAM file found. But it doesn't yet say anything about needing mastering(probably because it thinks there is no robot to master yet). I see the buttons at the bottom related to sending things to and from the RDC, but no idea where those files are stored. The machine data seems to be there....
