Hello to everyone! My name is Radostin. I am new to this forum and to the world of robots at all and i was very happy when I first found this forum. I hope, with your help, I will find my answers in here :). Please, excuse me if my question is not on the right place or somehow conflicts with the rules of the forum.
I work in a small company, which produces architecture elements from EPS (Styropor). Now they want to expand our activity and are looking to buy either a 4/5axis CNC milling machine or a robot. I've seen in Internet that there are many and different kinds of robots but it is quite hard for us to determine which model would be the optimal solution for us. As I read most of the topics here, I am thinking about ABB or Motoman, because they have suppliers near us and as far as I understood they also offer more friendly software. However, there are some technical specifications which we don't fully understand:
1. How big should be the robot (having in mind that we usually work eps blocks with size 2m x 1.2m)?
2. How big should be the maximal payload of the machine and also the maximal work speed?
3. Which is the best alternative regarding spare parts(mainly spindles, which i guess would be our biggest expense)?
4. How about the greasing of the machine?
5. Which software would be optimal for dealing with 3d elements?
6. Since we are new to those things and also our budget doesn't allow us to buy a new robot, it has to be a used one. What should I pay attention for?
Any kind of help would be much appreciated!
Thank you in advance,
