Hello,everyone
I'm working on combining vision system with various Robots.
A recent case that combined my vision with Fanuc Robot makes me crazy.
Could someone tell me or give me it's transmission protocol.

It will helpful if on your question, at least, you specify which vision system are you using ?

Which controller and vision system?
What OS in the PC? 32- or 64-bit?
What do you mean by transmission protocol? What program do you want to communicate with the robot?
Are you able no Monitor/Navigate iPendant from the PC? -

Hi,Fabian Munoz
I just return back to this case. I'm using Halcon vision system with VB code or C++ code.
All I want is to communicate with Fanuc Robot with my VB program in the OS of windows.
I have met agents of other vision system and they have external applications(STRP) that
need to be integrated into system as well. All I need is just the STRP, or the transmission procedure. Thanks!

Hi,Sergei Troizky
I have a serial of Fanuc Robot and I 'm using Halcon and Opencv etc.
I just want to give the Robot the coordinates to make the Robot move accuratly.
Thanks! -

If you want to send the Robot coordinates, so easier exit is use socket message, communicate robot and pc with TCP/IP.

You've recive mail from me?

Hi Travor,
I know the others are trying to talk you into using ethernet/ip, and that is really good for 16bit data registers, but not as good for straight positional data. Please have a look at a fanuc product called robot server. You will have to install anoption on the robot called PC interface, and then embed the code from the robot server API into your C++, vb etc.. We have done this for years using halcon, hexsight vision tools. You can then directly populate position registers with 6 point structured data.

Its just like OPC server??
-
Never have tried to use OPC server, cant advise on that. I do know that with robot server from fanuc, you can litterally have access to every variable, DI/DO positional data...etc .. that you want. You incorporate it into your host program that you write in VB.net, vb6 etc.. and it works flawlessly. You can even remote start the robot, fault reset etc..

Hey guys, I am also working on a similar project. I am using a webcam interface with LABview to identify the position of the object. Now how do i communicate the position data to my R30iA controller. Please help me on this!I need to store the position into position register to be used in the program during execution

Hi Scotty,
Can you help me with the transmission protocol over Ethernet - Socket Messaging. I don't know how to go about it. i've been stuck up with this part for a month already. -
Yes, I can. In PM please...
