Disable ethernet IP io

  • I have a Fanuc robot that was controlled by an Allen Bradley Compact logic processor through Ethernet IP. We have removed the robot from the cell and would like to reuse it on a machine that does not have Ethernet IP. I can't even get the robot to move in teach mode because it is looking for a hold release from Ethernet IP IO. How do I convert the robot to use hard wired IO again. Or at least bypass the hold signal.

    Thanks,

  • Under MENU>System>Config, set Remote/Local setup to Local, and Enable UI signals to FALSE.
Also, you may need to stop the Ethernet/IP connection in I/O>Ethernet/IP, by setting its Enable switch to FALSE.
After such setup the robot will operate as a standalone unit with no host.
In order to use hardwire signals, you need to have some discrete I/Os available in the robot and map UOP I/O to them.
