FANUC ArcMate 120iB RJ3iB Weave

    Hello all,

    I'm new to the Robotic Welding scene, my company just purchased 2 Arc Mate 120iB Mig Welding Robots.
    I have managed to figure out the weave options and how to add the weave command to a program.

    My question is:

    Is there a way to rotate the weave around the X or Y axis? I can use a weave easily between to points, but I am welding a seam between a flat plate and a 90 degree plate and would like to weave on a 45 degree angle.

    Is this possible ? - I posted an image to try an explain what I'm trying to do.

    Another option you can try is navigating to the weave setup screen. 1. Menu 2. Setup 3. Weave-from there scroll down to the azimuth and change to 90 degree or 45 dergree whatever you desire. 90 degree acts more like a back step than weaving side to side.

    After you check the setup of your tool frame is correctly,
    check the angle approach of the torch, that should be enough. The weaving motion is relative to the tool frame.

    In very special situation, where your approach angle can not be changed then it might be necessary to use the azimuth. (This item allows you to enter the angle between the y component of a weave vector and the weave frame y-axis. This allows you to change the angle of the weave if you cannot rotate the tool. This changes the y alignment relative to x.)

    First check your tool frame...
