    Hello everyone,

I currently work with KUKA KRC4 Controller but for doing backup, we can only use one USB Key out of some we have (even a KUKA USBStick i got from a training didn't work :icon_mrgreen: ).
The USBStick who work is a generic 4 GB Stick.

Is there any known compatibility issue with some USBStick with KRC4 Controller?

    Thank in advance :merci:

    PS: Hope my english will work ^^;

I have experience with KRC2, there was not problems with other USB sticks. Only must be formatted in FAT32.

My team has used a bunch of completely random USB sticks on KRC4s recently, with no issues. Do the sticks just not show up in the KCP Navigator? Or do they show up, but fail on certain operations?

Which USB port are you using, OliveRobot?

Backups tend to be slow if done through the SmartPad USB port.

Thank you all for your feedback

The USB Stick simply didn't show up on the SmartPad, i never tried by using with the Controller. One of my colleague tell me that he tried different formatting type (with FAT32 i assume...) but without result.

For the fact that the Backup via Smartpad is slower, i've seen that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I will try by formatting a new USBStick Monday, is there a capacity limit (like the 512mo limit with CompactFlash with the old FANUC Robot)?

I've used 8GB and 16GB with no issues. I doubt there is a maximum size limit until much, much higher sizes.

    All USB sticks should work.
But they need to be formated with Fat32 to work on the SmartPad. NTFS formated USB sticks will only work directly on the controller.

I use a 64 gig stick generic no problems in maybe 25 robots

I believe there was an issue with some robots to do with the bios

Contact your local Kuka to check it will be still be in warranty

You need to be connected as user = expert to be able to see the USB stick on the teach pendant.

    Hello everyone,

I will describe my experience with KRC4: if everything is OK with the system, then the archive is restored from any USB stick, but if a failure occurs and it is necessary to restore the backup, then the non-original flash drive does not work: the recovery process loops endlessly..

    (sorry for my English)
