I have 2 s420iW robots with RJ2 controllers and when I try to run them in world frame the Y axis moves side to side but also the #4 axis moves with it....what is the problem...any help will be appreciated

Sounds like the calibration has gone....
Or maybe you have the wrong software for the gearing in the arm, we had this with a S-500 robot, but I don't know if that is a possible issue with the S-420iW.

Try moving the robots in joint. If your in World all 6 axis will move to keep the face plate or tool on the same plane.

That is the problem....the 4th axis moves and the faceplate does not stay on the same plane.

I would have to say that you have a software issue then. Sounds like you have IF software rather than the iW which has a High Torque wrist.

Did you swap robots and controllers ?
It seams that the software is expecting a different gearing in the arm. -
Thanks everyone it turned out that I had 420iF software for a 420iW...reloaded software and it works fine
